activities:
- Making a list of friends & family to call - only to be massively rejected
- "Cold Calling" people on a daily basis (either in person, over the phone, or both)
- Driving to hotel meetings weekly (or daily)
- Inviting both friends/family, as well as strangers, to "home parties"
- The 3 foot rule - constantly trying to think of some new way to "pitch" my business to everyone near me (or tricking them into giving me their contact
information so I can cold call them at a later date)

you have a very slim chance to cold call to one of these people. Using the power of the internet, you can find these groups of like minded people and they will
typically instantly join you in business; or more importantly, they can find YOU through the internet, more about why this is so important below.
Have you ever been humiliated and embarrassed because your network marketing company told you to make a list
of "friends & family" to harrass? (I mean "prospect") As humans, it's our nature to be more motivated by fear than it is to be motivated by pleasure. The very fear
of the rejection which accompanies "prospecting" friends & family members has left a bad taste in many people's mouths in this industry. No one should have to deal with
this, which is exactly where internet network marketing online comes into play.
It is well known in human psychology that people take better to decisions that they perceive to have made
on their own. When you directly approach others, they feel more like you are "hunting" them, which leads them to believe that they are not making the decision on
their own. What do animals do if they discover they are being hunted? They run! On the other hand, internet network marketing online allows you to run your
business more like the fishing industry. You put the proper "bait" out there, and allow the right type of fish to be attracted to it! (This is where the term
attraction marketing comes from) This allows highly pre-qualified business builders to come to you, and relieves you of ever again having to cold call
or make lists of friends and family.
In my experience, driving to hotel meetings & home parties is a complete
waste of your time. As explained previously, the people you are trying to get to these venues are limited in the quantity that will
show up, as well as the quality. Most of the tactics used to get people there are around a "business reception" or a "product launch
party". The people that show up are typically not qualified to be in business with you, feel trapped & tricked into showing up; In
other words, they feel as if they are the hunted. There are hundreds of ways to attract others to you online. We'll look at just one
of them, youtube, which at the time of writing of this article claim that "People are watching hundreds of millions of videos a day".
How many people do you get to your home or hotel meeting? Maybe 10 if you are a SUPERSTAR recruiter. How about getting hundreds of
people per HOUR to view your presentation, all done automatially for you, even while you're hanging with your loved ones, or even sleeping?
This is a small glimpse of the potential of internet network marketing online.
Why does the average person have a near zero chance to have success in cold calling? The short answer
is that less than 5% of the population is a natural personality fit for "sales". If you're not in this 5%, it takes years of training to become truly efficient
and successful with cold calling.
I learned this lesson from experience as I AM one of those 5% personality types, as I'm a former record
breaking salesperson. (In my former "job") I even spent many thousands of dollars on sales training from excellent trainers like Dani Johnson.
What I experienced is that even if you personally become really good at using "old school" methods
and cold calling to introduce people into the business, a VERY small percentage of them will ever be able to duplicate your results in being able to "recruit"
new members. The entire point to network marketing is to be able to leverage other people's resources & skills and help them to create great incomes! It's like
finding a needle in the haystack if you're only looking for the 5% of society which even has a fighting chance in the first place. While internet network marketing
online requires a different skillset, it allows anyone, from any background, to become successful in a shorter time period compared to the old school cold
calling and "friends and family" techniques.
